This blind was designed and patented by two duck hunters because we were not happy with the features of the other blinds available to us. Listed below are some of the important features and differences that make our blind the best choice for many duck hunters. WEIGHT – At only 30-35 pounds, our blind weighs only ¼ to ½ as much as many other blinds on the market. EASY SET UP – It only takes one man to set up our blind quickly and easily. Some other blinds require 2 hunters and can be very awkward to set up. With our blind there are no loose parts to be dropped or lost in the dark and the set up is easily accomplished even while wearing heavy gloves. MATERIAL – Many other blinds use cheap, imported, die-cut cloth or heavy solid cloth. We use premium 3-D leafy material manufactured here in the U.S. by Milliken Co. Our material consists of a camo backing onto which are sewn strips of leafy camo material. This gives our blind a very 3-D leafy look. DOG ACCESS – Designed right into this blind are easy to use dog openings located in the center on both sides of the boat. This allows your dog to be inside the boat and under your control, and doesn’t require him to exit off the bow or over the battery and gas tank next to the outboard motor. BOAT SHAPE – Our blind framework follows the shape of your boat rather than just being a square box that attaches to your boat. This allows you to install it on a narrow pointed boat equally as well as a wide square one. BLIND HEIGHT – With our blind, YOU decide how tall you want your blind to be. This is easily done during installation and allows you to match the blind to your seat height and personal preference. Other blinds on the market today have all of the dimensions factory pre-set, which may or may not work well for you. OPEN or CLOSED TOP – In response to several requests from our customers, we have recently designed a top cover and now have it available as an option with any of our Easy-Up blinds. With or without the top option installed, the opening at the top of our blind can be made as wide or narrow as YOU prefer. This is easily determined and set during installation. You should realize that although our competitor’s over-the-head closed top blinds may give you some additional overhead weather protection, they can also severely limit your ability to have a 360 deg. view or to be able to shoot in any direction as needed. Their style top will also often flare off incoming ducks because of all of the movement and noise that is unavoidable when opening the top up to shoot. We have found, and no doubt you have also, that ducks don’t always come to us from the expected direction. Therefore your ability to be able to quickly shoot at that ‘surprise duck’ that suddenly appears over your decoys or behind you gives our blind a valuable advantage over blinds that require you to open or move the top before shooting, and even then often your shooting is limited to only one direction. Our new non-mechanical top option gives you all of the advantages of our original open-top blind while allowing you to fully conceal the interior of your boat from overhead view. With or without our top installed, our blind allows you to slip your shotgun up and be ready to shoot without any noise or excessive movement, thereby giving you a first shot at incoming ducks that are totally unaware of your presence. Our top option adapts instantly to accommodate 1,2,3 or more hunters in your boat by only having openings where needed and concealing everything else or it can be left completely open and totally out of the way. Our top adds less than 5 pounds to the blind and can be added to any existing Easy-Up blind without modification to the blind. BOAT COVERAGE – Some other blinds only cover parts of the boat. Ours covers the complete boat and motor all the way down to the water line thereby eliminating the need to paint your boat, purchase expensive decals, or any extra side skirts or motor covers. STEERING CONSOLE – A side steering console will get in the way of many blinds, however the Easy-Up will fit your boat properly and work equally well no matter what type of steering system your boat has.
