About Turkey chokes

To get a dense pattern with a tight center you will need to use one of the Precision Hunter style chokes. Our three most popular chokes have exit diameters of .670, .665, and .660. We have tighter chokes but these three generally end up working the best. The tighter ones are better suited for card shooting with size #8 and smaller shot. Remember, the smallest exit diameter does not always give the most dense pattern. In all cases and no matter what choke you are using, you will be wasting your time shooting a cheap shell and should only hunt turkeys with the best shell you can get. We have patterned Hevi-Shot and have excellent results with their #6 shot in the .670 turkey choke. In fact, we had patterns going 60% at 70 yards with #2 Hevi-Shot!

Suggested Turkey chokes and shot sizes.

Turkey 690 - #5 lead or #6 Hevi-Shot in .774 bore guns.
Turkey 670 - #5 lead or #6 Hevi-Shot in .740 bore guns.
Turkey 665 - #5 lead or #6 Hevi-Shot in .730 bore guns.
Turkey 660 - #5 lead or #6 Hevi-Shot in .725 bore guns.

These chokes are extended length, knurled for easy removal and installation, and have a black oxide finish to reduce glare. They will pattern better than flush mounted chokes due to less shot deformation. They are manufactured from highest quality, heat treated 17-4 stainless steel.
This style is an excellent choice for the turkey hunter who wants a dense pattern at long range and these have been tested with all lead and Hevi-Shot loads.
